LED dot-matrix displays are made up of individual pixels. These are arranged in horizontal and vertical lines within the matrix from which the displays get their name. Every pixel is clearly defined using an individual ID based on the row and column number. Thanks to multiplex control, a huge range of figures, letters and even graphics can be shown on a matrix display.
